For Immediate Release
MANCHESTER, NH. July 18, 2021 – The campaign of Manchester Republican mayoral candidate Richard Girard released the endorsement of former school board member Joe Briggs, today. Briggs, an Independent, represented Ward 2 from 2010 to 2012 and co-hosted The 2 Joes Show on Manchester Community Television with Alderman at-Large Joe Levasseur for three years.
In accepting the endorsement, Girard praised Briggs’ ability to analyze problems and propose solutions. “Joe was great at identifying what he saw as the root causes of the problems facing the city and the district and he was very willing to offer solutions. I very much respected and appreciated that. He was always willing to put ideas on the table to focus the discussion on solutions. I’m the same way and that’s why I’m honored to have his support.
Statement of support from Joe Briggs:
Manchester today faces difficult decisions that require both allegiance to kids and residents rather than special interest groups. Rich Girard has demonstrated time and again his ability to grasp the underlying problem – to dig into the details, to do the math, to engage stakeholders, and to find a balanced solution. This is what Manchester needs today, and why I endorse him for mayor.
None of us are perfect. There are those who will want to decide the race on personal issues that have nothing to do with your child’s education, your property taxes your home value, or the ability to safely walk down Elm Street. Don’t be distracted. It’s high time to restore Manchester’s proper place as one of the top cities to live in the US. Rich Girard has the vision and a plan to get you there.
